BOOK SALE. Friends of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library will hold its semi-annual book sale Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 23 to 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at 14 Union St., South Hamilton. Most selections cost $2 or less, and all proceeds benefit the library. A members-only sale takes place Friday, Sept. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. New members are welcome to join anytime at the library or Friday evening at the door., 978-468-5577.

SALEMRECYCLES BOOK SWAP. Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Senior Center, 5 Broad St., Salem. Recycle unwanted books, greeting cards, CDs, DVDs and videos and take home a whole new selection of items. No swap is needed; participants can choose to donate materials, take materials or do both. All books, including textbooks, accepted. Items may be dropped off on Friday, Sept. 20, 6 to 7 p.m. or Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Volunteers will be available to help.

BOOK SALE. Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Swampscott Public Library, 61 Burrill St., Swampscott. Friends of the Swampscott Public Library will hold a book sale. All proceeds benefit the library. On Sunday, Sept. 22, noon to 4 p.m., half-price on everything. 781-596-8867.
