Go Fly a Kite, 2 p.m., Chabad, 44 Burrill St., Swampscott. Children and adults are invited to fly a kite at the Lappin Foundation’s PJ Library Sukkot Story Time. Program includes sukkot stories, kite-flying, snacks and a visit to Chabad’s sukkah (hut) where families can shake the lulav (palm, willow and myrtle leaves) and etrog (citron) and enjoy refreshments provided by Chabad. Program takes place rain or shine; kite-flying is weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, children will take kites home. Create Topsfield Arts Festival Concert, 3 p.m., Congregational Church of Topsfield Meeting House, 9 E. Common St., Topsfield. In conjunction with Create Topsfield Arts Festival, the Congregational Church of Topsfield will host a gala concert featuring organ, piano, flute, solos and duets by Bart Dahlstrom, director of music and organist at CCoT, and Richard Webster, director of music and organist at Trinity Church Boston. Yard Sale, 8 a.m. to noon, First Baptist Church in Beverly, 221 Cabot St. Items will include housewares, tools, small appliances, furniture, books and sports items. Held in the gym, which is handicapped-accessible/stroller friendly. Rain or shine. All proceeds help to support the mission work of the church. Benefit Concert, 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., St. Thomas School gym, 5 Margin St., Peabody. All proceeds benefit the impoverished children of Santa Lucia and the orphanage Casa Hogar Divino Nino Jesus in Salcedo, Dominican Republic. Entertainment includes Latin music by Lenguas de Fuego, Stacey Vasquez and Grupo Esperanza; dancing by Los Angeles; light rock by Protest; contemporary and pop by Zach and Talia, K. Leigh Regan and Berklee student Stephanie Skye; and praise and worship song by Mike and Anne. Raffle tickets, Dominican pastilitos, pizza, snacks and refreshments available for purchase.
