Comedy Night at Temple Beth Shalom, at 489 Lowell St., Peabody, will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. and with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sarah Blodgett, Rich Gustus and Chrissy Judge Kelleher will be on stage, and have previously performed at Giggles, The Comedy Studio and Catch a Rising Star. A lobster roll sale will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 24 St. Peter St., Salem on Friday, Sept. 27. Orders must be placed by Wednesday, Sept. 25. The price is $10 which includes a lobster roll, a bag of chips, and a homemade cookie. Orders of six or more can be delivered. All orders must be picked up by noon on Friday, Sept. 27, at the Parish Hall at 24 St. Peter St., Salem. Call 978-745-2291 to place an order.

Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Danvers and North Shore Community Baptist Church are co-sponsoring a 10-week course, known as Alpha, which explores the Christian faith in an open and friendly setting. The course meets weekly starting Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at North Shore Community Baptist Church, 9 Hart St., Beverly. Each meeting includes dinner, a short talk and time for discussion when all questions are welcome. Jewish teens who are currently sophomores or juniors in high school and reside in Robert I. Lappin Charitable Foundation’s service area are invited to attend one of the following informational meetings for the 2014 Robert I. Lappin Youth to Israel Adventure (Y2I): Monday, Sept. 30, 7 p.m., JCC, 4 Community Road, Marblehead; Thursday, Oct. 3, 7 p.m., Temple Beth Shalom, 489 Lowell St., Peabody; Sunday, Oct. 6, 7 p.m., Temple B’nai Abraham, 200 E. Lothrop St., Beverly; Wednesday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m., JCC, Marblehead; and Sunday, Oct. 20, 7 p.m., Temple Beth Shalom, Peabody. Interested teens and parents will hear from alumni and from Deborah Coltin, the trip organizer and supervisor. The 2014 program includes the fully subsidized 12-day trip to Israel in July 2014, in addition to educational programs for teens and parents, and leadership training opportunities for teens.
