BREAST FRIENDS WALK. Sunday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m., Devereux Beach, Marblehead. The 3-mile Breast Friends Foundation Walk Around The Neck Fundraiser begins at Devereux Beach and travels around Marblehead Neck. All proceeds support breast cancer education, awareness, support, and research. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. $20 adult, $10 child. Takes place rain or shine. www.breastfriendsfoundation.org.

STARRY, STARRY NIGHT X. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 6 to 9 p.m., Smith Barn at Brooksby Farm, Felton Street, Peabody. The Trustees of the Peabody Institute Library and the Peabody Institute Library Foundation will host a cocktail party fundraiser with music, food and conversation under the stars. $20 ticket. Proceeds support programs, collections and services provided by the Peabody Institute Library.
