A dose of ‘Down East’ humor
Go back in time to rural Maine with Bob Bryan, a former Ipswich resident and founding co-writer and storyteller of the “Bert and I” stories. Tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m., Bob will reminisce about his career, in which he performed humorous stories about fabricated characters living in the “Down East” culture of rural Maine and New England. Tickets cost $75 per person, and all of the event proceeds will benefit the Ipswich Visitor Center, which serves as an art gallery in the summer and the headquarters for the National Park Service’s Essex Trail Visitor Center. The event will be held at The Tavern at Castle Hill, 280 Argilla Road, Ipswich. Space is limited to 44 seats, and tickets are expected to sell out. A cash bar will be available to attendees.
