Marblehead: Marblehead Meanderings: Beach Exploration, 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Chandler Hovey Park, at the end of Follett Street, off Ocean Avenue on Marblehead Neck. For families and children ages 4 to 12. Join instructors Joan McDuff, Susan McMullen and Laurie Hark at Grace Oliver Beach during low tide and discover the life along the sandy coastline. Walk across mudflats to Crowninshield Island to search for tiny fish, hermit crabs, periwinkles, and other sea creatures, and explore the island and its unusual variety of landforms. Ipswich: Family Farm Dinners: Earth Oven Pizza Nights, 5:30 p.m., Appleton Farms, 219 County Road. Join the farm staff and a volunteer guest chef for a Friday night pizza party on the farm. Children can visit the chickens, pick herbs for their pizzas, and play some good old fashioned games while homemade pizzas are baked in the new earth oven in the outdoor kitchen.
