“Moving on After Moving In,” a small group study for women, is based on the book “After the Boxes are Unpacked: Moving on After Moving In” by Susan Miller. The Bible-based discussion group will address emotional struggles and opportunities for spiritual growth as participants start fresh in their new communities. Everyone is welcome to participate in the sixth annual Jimmy Myers 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Monday, Jan. 21, at the Jewish Community Center, 4 Community Road, Marblehead. Myers, a Swampscott native, was a beloved coach at the J for 25 years, where he mentored thousands of kids about good sportsmanship and ran youth and adult basketball leagues. Nearly 100 kids and adults competed in the tourney last year. This year’s schedule: Grades 3-5 check-in, 9 a.m.; games start 9:30 a.m. Grades 6-8 check-in, 11:30 a.m.; games start at noon. Grades 9-12 check-in, 2 p.m.; games start 2:30 p.m. Adults check-in, 6:30 p.m.; games start 7 p.m. The fee is $45 per three-person team. All money raised goes toward sports and recreation programs at the JCC. The Choir of Christ the Redeemer will sing music of William Billings, Charles Callahan, John Joubert, Austin Lovelace, Alice Parker, John Weaver and others at “Lessons and Carols” on Sunday, Jan. 6, at 5 p.m. at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, 188 Elliott St., Route 62, Danvers. The congregation will sing hymns of the season, and the nine Scripture lessons will be read by parishioners and clergy. The service will last approximately an hour and a half.
