As part of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church’s spiritual formation during Lent, the church will hold a Lenten retreat, called “Going Deeper in Prayer Using Art Materials,” on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 188 Elliott St., Danvers. The retreat will provide an extended time of teaching and hands-on experiences designed to help attendees discover how each of five tools (clay, movement, colored pencils, chalk and markers) can be helpful in prayer times. Attendees should bring a bagged lunch. The cost is $10 for supplies, and reservations should be made no later than Wednesday, Feb. 20, by contacting Wendy Dixon at wendenn@gmail.com. Church in the Cove is offering a three-week workshop titled “Embracing Love, Healing Our Hearts,” beginning Feb. 12 at 167 Hale St., Beverly. The workshop, facilitated by Patty Chrystycz, focuses on healing and opening one’s heart to receive the love of others, self and spirit. Each session, participants will explore using guided visualization to gain insights that lead to peace, joy, gentleness and love. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays, Feb. 12, 19 and 26, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with a gathering at 4:45 p.m. People of all spiritual or nonspiritual walks of life are welcome to participate. The Rev. Dr. Richard T. Loring, interim priest from 2006 to 2007 at the former Calvary Church in Danvers, will serve as the transitional priest for All Saints Episcopal Church of the Northshore, a merger of Calvary and St. Paul’s, located at 46 Cherry St., Danvers. Since retiring in 1995, Loring has provided interim work in churches seeking rectors. At 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 27, 1963, St. Mary’s Parish was divided in two, and a new parish, St. Richard of Chichester, was officially recognized and named to honor the patron saint of Cardinal Cushing. St. Richard’s will celebrate its 50-year anniversary with a Mass on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 8 a.m. at 90 Forest St., Danvers. On the second Sunday of each month, members and friends of Maple Street Congregational Church will collect food and essential items for the Danvers Food Pantry.
