North Shore Entertainment Calendar


OPEN SUNDAYS. Ipswich Museum will be open on Sundays through April 7, excluding March 31, from 2 to 4 p.m., for its special Sundays winter exhibit titled “Ipswich in the Civil War,” on view at 54 South Main St., Ipswich. The exhibit showcases the role Ipswich played in the Civil War through the war stories of 462 people who lived in Ipswich before, during and after the war, and served in the military. The museum will also host various events and programs related to the exhibit. Admission is free for Ipswich residents visiting on the first Sunday of the month. FLY TYING. The Orvis Co. will hold free classes on Saturdays through Feb. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Orvis, Northshore Mall, 210 Andover St., Peabody. MAPLE SUGARING. Appleton Farms staff will offer a volunteer service learning program for children ages 13 to 17 to learn what it takes to produce maple syrup from the tap to the bottle. Participants will learn alongside Appleton Farm staff on Feb. 19 to 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or after school from 3:30 to 5 p.m., on Feb. 25, 26, 27 and 28, and March 4, 5, 6 and 7.
