A free reception for “Woodcut: Blocks and Prints,” Don Gorvett’s exhibit featuring large-scale reduction woodcut prints, will take place at 2 p.m. at the Winfisky Gallery, Ellison Campus Center, Salem State University, 352 Lafayette St., Salem. Visitors will not only be able to see the prints but also the rarely-seen massive woodblocks which yield the prints. Can't make it today? The exhibit is on view through Oct. 9. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or by appointment. Get involved in planning Beverly's biggest celebration, Homecoming, by coming to tonight's meeting, at 5:30 at the Carriage House at Lynch Park, 55 Ober St., Beverly. Volunteers needed for fundraising, events, media, website and more. New members are welcome.
