Chorus North Shore performs 'Letters From Ireland' this weekend

Chorus North Shore, conducted by Sonja Dahlgren Pryor, presents a March concert that covers new realms for the chorus made up of many singers from Cape Ann.

The concert, “Letters From Ireland,” is a celebration of Irish music. There are two shows, Saturday at 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope Church in Ipswich and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Manchester Essex Regional High School in Manchester.

In addition to the chorus, the concert features Boston-based countertenor Thomas Mark Fallon, Irish actress Pauline Miceli of Rockport, a folk quartet called Travelers Three Plus One, piano accompanist Frederick MacArthur and Trautel Brown of Gloucester playing the Irish pipes.

This concert is a departure for Chorus North Shore as the singers share the stage with these other performers. Travelers Three Plus One is based on the North Shore and has performed across New England.

Fallon will perform traditional Irish songs, and the chorus will present a collection of authentic Irish songs interspersed with the reading of historic letters by Miceli.

General admission is $20; tickets for seniors and students are $17. Tickets are available online at www.chorusnorthshore.org or at the door.
