Music of peace and healing
Ipswich will host legendary Irish troubadour and peace activist Tommy Sands on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Ipswich High School’s Performing Arts Center. Sands and his fellow musicians will perform a blend of Celtic folk and peace activism in a concert titled “Music of Peace and Healing.” A select group of Ipswich High musicians and singers will perform a few of Sands’ pieces alongside the folk singer himself. The collaborative concert will benefit The House of Peace, a nine-bedroom Colonial in Ipswich that has provided shelter to refugees and victims of war since 1990. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 to $20, but free for students. The Performing Arts Center is at 134 High St., Ipswich. For more information, call The House of Peace’s Carrie or John Shuchardt at 978-356-9395.
