“FOR THE BIRDS.” A gala to support the restoration of the John James Audubon’s elephant folio collection “Birds of America,” Friday, April 5, 6:30 p.m., Peabody Institute Library, 82 Main St., Peabody. Special guest David Allen Sibley, author and illustrator of “National Audubon Society: The Sibley Guide to Birds,” will talk about his work. A selection of original prints from “Birds of America” will be displayed. Reservations are $100 each, and space is limited. SUPPORT WOMEN IN ACTION. Volunteer on Saturday, April 6, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at Glen Urquhart School, 74 Hart St., Beverly Farms. Event to help The Food Project start seedlings in the greenhouse. CANNED FOOD AND ETHICAL ELECTRONICS RECYCLING DRIVE. Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, 2 to 5 p.m., Beverly Bootstraps’ parking lot, 371 Cabot St. All are welcome to participate. The cost is less than $1 per pound of materials if canned food is donated; seniors, members of Beverly Rotary, and Beverly Bootstraps volunteers and employees receive a discount. MARBLEHEAD FESTIVAL OF ARTS’ 42ND ANNUAL ART AUCTION.
