LOOKING FOR TRAIL-SIDE DAFFODILS. Bi-Peds monthly walk, Saturday, April 13, 1:30 p.m., meet at the access at Cabot and Coolidge roads, Danvers. Danvers Bi-Peds’ monthly walk will lead participants along the Danvers Rail Trail south to Tapleyville Ice Cream and back. There will be a pause at the 2.5-mile marker to thank all sponsors for the bulb plantings along the trail and at Tapleyville Ice Cream for anyone wishing to have a treat. Leashed dogs welcome. AMAZING AMPHIBIANS. Saturday, April 13, 2 to 3:30 p.m., Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield. For families with children 6 and older. Search the sanctuary’s wetlands and woodlands for amphibians on the move. Visit a vernal pool to find large masses of wood frog and salamander eggs. $9/adults, $7/children (discount for Mass Audubon members). TUESDAY, APRIL 16: APRIL VACATION DAYS: MARVELOUS MAMMALS. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield. Children in kindergarten through grade five will discover spring birds and bugs; look for beavers in the pond; search for frogs, salamanders and turtles; learn about soil and all the critters that live there. TUESDAY, APRIL 16: APRIL SCHOOL VACATION WEEK PEM EVENTS. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Peabody Essex Museum, East India Square, Salem. Explore art and movement through the work of Nick Cave. Studio discovery, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Bartlett Gallery, create Cave-inspired costumes using unique materials. Performance and workshop, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Atrium, interactive performance and workshop by Urbanity Dance, a contemporary dance company. Daily drop-in art activities: Design a collaged fashion sketch of a Soundsuit, then contribute to a life-size model; create kaleidoscopic wallpaper; explore MaKey MaKey, which turns almost anything into a musical instrument; 11:30 to noon, learn how to dance to artwork during a family tour.
