St. Nicholas Speakers Series, 6:30 to 9 p.m., St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 64 Forrester St., Salem. Over the course of two evenings (July 8 and 10), the Very Rev. Dr. Paul Tarazi, professor of Old Testament at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Seminary in New York, will present a free public lecture on 1 Corinthians as part of St. Nicholas’ speaker series. Taizé Prayer Service, 7 p.m., St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish, 24 Conant St., Danvers. All are invited for an evening of prayer in the style of the ecumenical community of Taizé, France.
