Feel like monkeying around today? Head to the Peabody Essex Museum at 161 Essex St., Salem, for a Story Trails program from 2 to 3 p.m. Read Adam Lehrhaupt’s “Warning: Do Not Open This Book!” and discover the mischief some monkeys wreak. Then, make a painting inspired by the animal works in PEM's “Beyond Human” exhibit. The program is for children ages 5 to 8 with an adult. Tickets are available at PEM. Salem Philharmonic Orchestra’s Winter Concert Series is celebrating its 110th season with diverse programs and guest soloists under the direction of Alan Hawryluk, who’s conducted the orchestra for the past 49 years. Today's concert at 3 p.m. features the Salem High School Symphony Orchestra. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. The concerts will take place in the Salem High School auditorium, 77 Willson St., which is handicapped-accessible.
