Celebrate Dr. Seuss' 109th birthday today with a breakfast of green eggs and ham. The Kiwanis Club of Beverly, will host the breakfast, which will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Italian Community Center, 302 Rantoul St., Beverly. The full breakfast features green (or yellow) eggs, ham, pancakes, milk, orange juice and coffee. Activities include face painting, balloons, raffles and giveaways, and attendees are encouraged to bring a camera as there will be an opportunity to meet and pose for pictures with popular characters, including The Cat in the Hat, Easter Bunny, Wally the Green Monster, Hello Kitty, Bob the Builder, and Blue from "Blues Clues." If your kids aren't into eating eggs, maybe they'll enjoy hunting for them. There are several Easter egg hunts planned today to choose from:

Celebrate Women's History Day today at the Phillips House, 34 Chestnut St., and Witch House, 310 Essex St., both in Salem, from noon to 4 p.m. Enjoy guided tours of the Phillips House (departing every half-hour). At the Witch House, author Bonnie Hurd Smith will sign and sell her books on women’s history. Free admission to Salem residents with proof of residency.
