Stop by the Friends of the Ipswich Public Library's biggest book sale of the year on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. on the Heard House lawn at the Ipswich Museum, 54 South Main St., Ipswich. The sale features a wide selection of hardcover and paperback books for children and adults, DVDs, CDs, and VHS tapes. Proceeds benefit library programs, materials, museum passes and scholarships. People of all ages and athletic abilities are invited for a free morning of yoga with instructor Cindy Hellman on the field at Swampscott High School, 200 Essex St. Attendees should bring a mat and water. A silent auction will be held at the Ipswich VFW from 6 to 8 p.m. to raise funds for Nicole Downer’s mission trip to Thailand to serve as a mentor for 16 months to the slum and brothel women who have been sold into Thailand’s sex industry. The mission is overseen by Bethany International Ministries as part of Nicole's college degree completion at Bethany College. The trip is primarily being funded by group and personal donations and her work as a lifeguard at the Ipswich YMCA. Donations may be made payable to Bethany International and mailed to Nicole Downer, 6 Fourth St., Ipswich MA 01938. Light refreshments and soft drinks will be served, and a cash bar will be available. Admission is free. The VFW is at 110 County Road in Ipswich. Marblehead professional actress Miriam Eyges performs a one-woman comedy show, called “Ma, Only You,” at 7 p.m. at Old North Church, 35 Washington St., Marblehead. The show is based on unusual and unique comical events that have taken place during Eyges’ life. Prior to Eyges' performance, Theatre of Light actors will perform Broadway songs and skits, and Rebecca Harrold, a professional musician and former Marblehead resident, will play a piano selection from her new CD. Admission is a $10 suggested ticket donation, which benefits the Theatre of Light’s summer children’s theater program. Reservations are recommended as seating is limited.
