---- — Happy birthday to ‘The Bard’

It’s William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, and The Ninjas of The Actors Company invite everyone to celebrate during the third annual Ninja Shakespeare Afternoon, beginning at noon tomorrow at Ipswich Visitor Center, 36 S. Main St., Ipswich, and continuing for three hours throughout the streets of downtown. The Ninjas will perform scenes from Shakespeare’s works, including sword fighting from “Hamlet,” Juliet speaking to her lover from a second-story bank window, the “Seven Ages of Man” in a deli, Helena and Hermia street-fighting outside Zumi’s Coffee Shop, sonnets, “Mackers” gone wrong, Hamlet dying along the Riverwalk and other scenes. These street performances are free. Then, at 7 p.m., head to the Meeting House for a special one-man performance of “Shakespeare’s Ghost.” Attendees who bring their program from The Ninjas’ afternoon festivities will receive a discounted ticket price. The Meeting House is at 12 Meeting House Green. For details and tickets, visit
