Name: Corey Kramer
Description: “The photo was taken while walking around in Boston. I don’t look at buildings as where people live or work, but as the abstract shapes and patterns that they create. I view architecture as all about geometric form and lines that create patterns. The patterns form a harmony between the lights and the darks as well as between the architectural elements. The patterns are like jigsaw pieces forming a puzzle.”

The use of black and white in this image makes the viewer really look into the depth and eccentricities found in the photograph. The various shapes and the pattern created by the glass reflecting other buildings provides the image with texture and allows the viewer’s eye to be led around the frame easily. The photographer properly exposes the image, allowing the buildings to separate from the sky, while also allowing for some detail in the dark reflections.
