DESCENZA DIAMOND DROP. Event to benefit Project Smile, Thursday, Nov. 29, 6:30 to 9 p.m., 161 Andover St., Peabody. DeScenza Diamonds and the Smiling Stiletto Club will host the fundraiser, which includes complimentary refreshments and holiday shopping discounts. Attendees are encouraged to wear fancy shoes and walk the pink carpet for a chance to win a prize. One guest will win a diamond pendant with a $7,000 retail value. Ten percent of profits from the sales will be donated to Project Smile, a nonprofit organization that helps children through traumatic events. 978-977-0090 or

“PAWS WITH CLAWS.” Pets can get their photos taken with “Santa Claws” on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Danvers PetSmart, 104 Andover St. Photos with Santa support homeless animals. Pet parents receive one 4- by 6-inch photograph in a holiday collector frame for $9.95 with savings card. For every photo package, PetSmart will donate $5 to PAWS Wakefield. 781-246-6111, or

FOURTH ANNUAL PARADE OF TREES. On view through Saturday, Dec. 1, Tapley Memorial Hall, 13 Page St., Danvers. Event features a raffle of fully decorated faux trees and wreaths. Creations will be raffled off at the conclusion of the event, and all proceeds will be shared by Danvers Historical Society and It’s My Heart, both locally based nonprofit organizations. Viewing hours are noon to 8 p.m. on weekdays, noon to 5 p.m. on weekends and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 1. The trees will be raffled off at 5 p.m. on Dec. 1.

“PARTY WITH A PURPOSE.” Danvers Community Council’s annual fundraiser on Sunday, Dec. 2, 4:30 to 7 p.m., at the Danvers Community YMCA, 34 Pickering St. The DCC provides assistance to less fortunate families. Event raises money for the Holiday Gift Giving Program and heat and other necessities needed in the coming winter months. Attendees ages 21 and older are welcome to attend. Guests are asked to bring a monetary gift and box of cereal as admission to the party. The cocktail reception will include entertainment by John Archer. 978-774-4682.
