Kate Stafford of the New England Wild Flower Society's Nasami Farm will give a free talk about how to grow native wildflowers from seed in your home using common household items at the Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex St. If you go, you'll also learn how to incorporate these wildflowers into your own home gardens. It's high school boys basketball playoff time, and Hamilton-Wenham will be the first North Shore team in action. The Generals visit Newburyport for a Division 3 first round game tonight at 7 p.m. at Newburyport High School, 241 High St., Newburyport. The Generals (10-8) are seeded No. 11 while the Clippers are seeded sixth with a 13-7 record.
