Good causes

SOCCER BOOSTERS CAR WASH. Saturday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., parking lot across from Danvers Town Hall, intersection of Elm and Hobart streets. Danvers High School Soccer Boosters will hold its annual car wash to support the school’s teams. $5 per car.

CELEBRITY SCOOPS. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2 to 4 p.m., Goodies, 46 Maple St., Danvers. Rita Rose Pasquale and Anthony Pasquale, owners of United Martial Arts in Danvers, will be celebrity scoopers at Goodies from 2 to 4 p.m. when 20 percent of the proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

RILEY ROCKS FAMILY CARNIVAL. Sunday, Aug. 25, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Beverly High School, 100 Sohier Road, Beverly. Arts and crafts, raffles, dunk tanks, games, bouncy houses, face painting and carnival food. Proceeds will be donated to the Riley Rocks Fund to help defray medical costs for 6-year-old Riley Fessenden, who has cancer. www.rileyfessendenrocks.com.

BRAMBLE IN BEVERLY. Monday, Aug. 26, at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club, 134 McKay St., Beverly. Golf tournament benefits Beverly Main Streets and Beverly Kiwanis. SUMMER’S BOUNTY. Thursday, Aug. 22, 6 to 9 p.m., Appleton Farms, 219 County Road, Ipswich. Menu focuses on the farm’s August bounty. If the weather cooperates, the menu will include roasted corn, red pepper and tomato chowder; eggplant and tomato gratin; summer risotto with grilled squash, mixed peppers, and fennel; and berries in almond cream.
