Play outdoor games that children have enjoyed for centuries in the Wenham Museum's next "M is for Museum" program, at 10 a.m. at the museum, at 132 Main St., Wenham. Arts Fest Beverly officially kicks off tonight with a reception for its community art exhibition at the Endicott College Manninen Center for the Arts, 376 Hale St., Beverly. The exhibit features work by artists who live in Beverly, go to school in Beverly or are affiliated with a Beverly arts organization. The reception runs from 5 to 8 p.m., and all are welcome to attend. If you can't make it tonight, you can check out the exhibit during Arts Fest on Saturday, or anytime before Aug. 2. Welcome summer during the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary's family dusk paddle, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the sanctuary, at 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield. All equipment will be provided, although participants must be able to swim. This event is suitable for family and children ages 6 to 16. While paddling, look for plants and animals. Cost $15 for adults and $13 for children (member discounts available). Register in advance by calling 978-887-9264.
