Sinclair Lewis has quite the fan club. Find out why during Beverly Public Library's Daytime Book Discussion Group meeting at 1 p.m. The group will discuss “Babbitt,” Lewis' controversial bestseller that satirizes American culture, society and behavior. Salem elementary-level students and their families are invited to attend tonight's Science Night from 5:30 to 7:30 at Witchcraft Heights Elementary School, located at 1 Frederick St., Salem. Enjoy presentations by the Museum of Science, New England Aquarium, Salem State University students, and live animals. The event is funded by the Read Trust. Don't miss Neal Sanders' fun, but unusual presentation at Peabody Garden Club's 7 p.m. meeting, which will be held in the Smith Barn on Felton Street in Peabody. The presentation features a pair discussion of "A Murder in the Garden Club" with a semi-horticultural presentation called "Gardening is Murder.” Sanders' books will be available for purchase.
