North Shore Entertainment Calendar

“THE WIZARD OF OZ.” Presented by North Shore Music Theatre with performances through Sunday, Aug. 4, at 62 Dunham Road in Beverly. Performances will run on Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; and Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $45 to $75. OPEN MIKE NIGHT. Wednesday, Aug. 7, sign-ups begin at 5:30 p.m., performances start at 6:15 p.m., in the Hedge Garden behind Pingree School, 537 Highland St., South Hamilton. Teens in middle and high school are invited to perform music, comedy, dance, rap, slam poetry and more. Admission is free. A drum set, keyboard, amps and microphones will be provided. Local comedian Dylan Wack will emcee, and surprise professional musicians will also perform. North Shore families are invited to attend and bring picnic dinners. “THE TAFFETAS.” Salem Theatre Company’s Music & More Series to stage Purple Sun Productions’ presentation of Rick Lewis’ “The Taffetas” on Thursday, Aug. 1, through Saturday, Aug. 17, in the STC Theater at 90 Lafayette St., Salem. The all-girl music romp through the ’50s is directed by Ariane Grossi, with musical direction by Evelyn Mann and choreography by Jim Dawidowicz. Performances run at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets cost $22 for adults and $20 for senior citizens ages 60 and up. ECO-ART: CELEBRATE SEEDS. Thursday, Aug. 1, 9 to 11 a.m. at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield. For families with children ages 4 to 12. Look at a variety of seeds and seed cases and then participate in a seed scavenger hunt. Using found objects, create collages and sculptures from seeds.
