Spend the evening with singer songwriters Dave Provost and friends beginning at 7 p.m. at the Glen Urquhart School, 74 Hart St., Beverly Farms. Head of school and accomplished musician Dave Provost will host an evening performance with four other artists, Ted DeMille, Susie West, Chris Westerlund and Erik Wendelken. The event is open to the public. Donations will be accepted and will benefit Gain@GUS, a program that provides free academic and recreational summer enrichment to talented students in the city of Beverly and surrounding areas. Award-winning pianist Simone Dinnerstein will perform Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” as part of Gordon College’s Adams Foundation Piano Recital Series. Dinnerstein's recording of Bach's “Goldberg Variations” ranked No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Classical Chart in its first week of sales. A graduate of The Julliard School, Dinnerstein was a winner of the Astral Artist National Auditions and has received the National Museum of Women in the Arts Award and the Classical Recording Foundation Award. The concert starts at 8 p.m. in the Phillips Music Center Recital Hall located on the Gordon College campus, 255 Grapevine Road, Wenham. General admission costs $20 and $10 for seniors. Tonight, the Panthers and the Magicians will hit the ice in the Rockett Arena, located in Salem State University's O'Keefe Center, 225 Canal St., Salem. So far, the Beverly High School's boys hockey team record boasts 13 victories and only one loss.
