Quick pick Parade of trees

The Salem News

---- — The fifth annual Parade of Trees kicks off tomorrow at noon with a family-fun activity hosted by Danvers High School volunteers at Tapley Memorial Hall, 13 Page St., Danvers. This year’s event continues through Saturday, Dec. 7, and features more than 24 trees that have been creatively designed with unique themes and styles by businesses, residents and community groups. Starting tomorrow, the community may stop by and view the trees anytime between noon and 5 p.m. on weekends, and 2:30 to 8 p.m. on weekdays. Festivities planned for the weeklong event include music, ornament decorating, story hours, a karate demo by United Martial Arts, a magic show by Jay Fraser, the second annual “Polar Express” reading and more. Purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a tree decorated with prizes. Then on Dec. 7 at 5 p.m., the same day as the Downtown Improvement Committee’s 15th annual Holiday Festival, trees will be raffled off and winners will be announced.
