Paris comes to Salem
Ever wonder how the Francophones celebrate Christmas? Throw on a beret and join the Boston String Quartet at 7 p.m. on Sunday for its third annual Christmas series, titled “Christmas in Paris.” The quartet will explore Parisian life by performing traditional French carols, new stories, and music from popular films, including “Hugo” and “The Illusionist.” Arrangements, which are written by quartet members, will accompany a multimedia adventure through the city of lights — “la ville lumiere” — wherein concertgoers will visit the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame de Paris and the Louvre. The concert and international adventure take place at the First Universalist Society of Salem, 211 Bridge St. Admission is $20 per person and free for children under 18.
