DANVERS SOCCER SALUTING SOLDIERS FESTIVAL. Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association teams for U-08 and U-10 players will play a tournament Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday, Nov. 15, at Gates Field, on Hobart Street in Danvers, with team registration proceeds, net proceeds from food and drink, festival T-shirt, sweatshirt and hat sales going to Operation Troop Support. LET'S CLAW AT CANCER. Marketing students at Beverly High School are encouraging the public to fight cancer by donating to the Jimmy Fund. HAWC FOOD DRIVE. HAWC (Healing Abuse Working for Change, formerly Help for Abused Women and their Children) is appealing for donations of grocery store gift cards (specifically, Shaw's and Market Basket) and will also gladly accept donations of nonperishable food items to distribute to families who need the help during upcoming holidays and winter months.   • North Shore religion news in brief The Gordon College Department of Political Science and Christians in Political Science will host the Christians in Political Science Conference (CPS) on Thursday, May 31, through Saturday, June 2, on the college's campus, 255 Grapevine Road, Wenham.
