A day for horsin’ around

Trot over to the Topsfield Fairgrounds Arena Building for Essex County Trail Association’s 18th annual Equine EXPO and Sale tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The annual exposition and sale raises funds to maintain the trails that are used for all types of passive recreation in Hamilton, Wenham, Topsfield, Ipswich, Essex and West Newbury. In addition to a silent auction, the nonprofit organization’s event features a large marketplace of businesses, groups and individuals selling new and used items and services for the horse and rider/driver. Demonstrations by a local trainer; an animal intuitive, interspecies communicator and energy healer; Pasco Fino horses; New England Equine Rescue; Great Dane service dogs; twin mules; and an equine dentist are scheduled throughout the day, and information about land organizations, state parks, trail maps and other details will be offered at several tables inside the arena. Human food will be available for purchase, and the venue, located at 207 Boston St., Topsfield, is wheelchair-accessible with ample car parking. General admission is $5 and free for children under 10. For more information, call 978-468-7715 or visit www.ectaonline.org.
