North Shore Entertainment Calendar



YMCA’S HEALTHY KIDS DAY. Saturday, April 27, noon to 3 p.m., Salem Common, 18 Washington Square. Active play, educational activities, games, entertainment from Radio Disney, Scholastic book fair, face-painting, arts and crafts, water safety lessons from lifeguards, and more. CARFIT EVENT. Saturday, April 27, noon to 3 p.m., 108 Jefferson Ave., Salem. Joint venture created and sponsored by AAA, AOTA and AARP. Free 20-minute assessment of the fit of the car owner and his or her vehicle. Participants are offered recommendations about how to best adjust such things as the steering wheel, mirrors, seat belts, etc. Adaptive devices that may be helpful in entry and exit of the vehicle, improving the fit of the brake and gas pedal, and easing the turning of the key in the ignition can be sampled. Participation is by registration only, which can be made by calling 978-825-8700.

“SALEM SOUND, A SENSE OF PLACE.” Sunday, April 28, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Atrium Gallery of the Musculoskeletal Center, 4 Centennial Drive, Salem. Salem Sound Coastwatch photography show, winners of its yearlong photo contest. Photos capturing the beauty and nature of the Salem Sound watershed, taken in Beverly, Danvers, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead, Peabody and Salem.
