A tasty time in Topsfield
The Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary will be buzzing with activity as instructors and families learn about the sweet profits of local honeybees. Tomorrow from 10 a.m. to noon, instructors from Cape Ann Waldorf School will join families with children ages 5 and older for a hands-on program to harvest honey and beeswax. Participants will learn about the honeybee, how humans and honeybees can support one another, how the products of the beehive are used at Cape Ann Waldorf School, and how the hive and honeybee can teach people of all ages. Everyone gets to bring home a little bear filled with the sweet success of this year’s honey harvest. The program meets in the barn at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield. Admission for nonmembers is $9 for adults and $7 for children. Mass Audubon Society member admission is $7 for adults and $6 for children. Advance registration is required at 978-887-9264.
