CHARLESTON/CHAPLIN: 1920S STYLE. Thursday, Jan. 17, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Peabody Essex Museum, atrium, East India Square, Salem. Celebrate flappers, fashion, film and music from the Roaring ’20s. Hear fashion historian Michelle Tolini Finamore discuss the Jazz Age flapper, watch a Charlie Chaplin film and try out some dance moves with teachers from the New School of Swing. Cash bar. “THE BEST EVER LAUNCHING THE 4TH PARTY.” Saturday, Jan. 19, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Hastings House, 14 Oak St., Beverly Farms. Event includes a short talk on planning and fundraising needs for the Farms-Prides Fourth of July celebration. Also, Atlas PyroVision Productions, which provides fireworks each year, will present “The Making of a Fireworks Show,” which describes how shows are designed and choreographed; the “Grand Finale” is a short video of the company’s world championship performance in Montreal last summer. FESTIVAL OF ARTS LOGO PREMIERE PARTY. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 7 to 9 p.m., The Landing Restaurant, 81 Front St., Marblehead. The winning 2013 Marblehead Festival of Arts logo will be on display. This year’s contest featured more than 40 entries. A panel of judges selected three finalists, then a public ballot at 16 voting locations selected the winner.
