Best Bets for Friday, Feb. 1

Here are The Salem News' best bets for today:

Jazz up your Friday with a performance by The Brian Fitzpatrick Trio from noon to 1:50 p.m., in Endicott College's Rose Performance Hall, located at 376 Hale St., Beverly. Today's performance kicks off Endicott's music series titled “Fridays in the Rose,” and features school faculty member and pianist Brian Fitzpatrick, bassist Dave Zox, and percussionist Dave Ellis. The concert is free and open to the public, and includes a light reception afterwards. For details or to reserve tickets, visit www.endicott.edu/centerforthearts, or leave a message at 978-998-7700.

The Producer's Society at Gordon College presents a 7 p.m. performance of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” a story about a demonic English barber who murders his customers then bakes their corpses into meat pies. General admission is $12, and $7 for students and faculty. Tickets may be purchased at the box office before the performance, or online. The performance will be held in Gordon College's Margaret Jensen Theatre in the Barrington Center for the Arts, located at 255 Grapevine Road, Wenham.
