A driver on Widger Road suggested to police at 3:12 p.m. that a dangerous situation exists. Encountering a parade of traffic she assumed it was the pick-up line for the Tower School. By the time she got to West Shore Drive, however, she realized her mistake. "A woman yelled at her and told her she was in the wrong lane of a two-way road," according to the log.
At 8:32 p.m. a man brought in a purse, with the peace sign on it, found in the Atomic Cafe and containing $42 and gift cards. The owner was located.
Saturday
Police spoke to the owner of a car whose alarm went off "six or seven times" on Roosevelt Avenue at 12:33 a.m.
A man complained at 10:22 a.m. that he wasn't able to play tennis at the Middle School because a group was playing soccer. "He wanted the officer to advise the soccer players what tennis courts were for," according to the log. Police say one tennis net was open and that the soccer players had a right to be there in any case.
A plant was reported dug up and stolen on Lafayette Street at 3:37 p.m.
A woman on Green Street complained at 3:43 p.m. that her neighbor was pounding on her door and swearing at her.
At 4:49 p.m. police received a complaint from West Shore Drive of kids smashing things in the street and hitting at least one car with a slingshot. "Spoke with parent who states they will supervise children better," reads the log.
A Neptune Road resident told police at 5:04 p.m. that someone, he thinks a neighbor, ripped down the "No Parking" sign on his fence and stuck it on his windshield.
A driver told police at 8:22 p.m. that he ran over white paint his landlord was using and tracked it up Franklin Street. He was doing his best to clean it up and "just wanted us to know about what he did and (that) it wasn't a vandalism event," according to the police report.

Ronald C. Abrams, 63, of 26 Lincoln Park, Marblehead, was arrested following a 7:17 a.m. accident — on Pleasant Street where an SUV crashed into a parked car — and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and negligent driving.
A Kia, a Hyundai and two Chryslers had gasoline siphoned from them on West Shore Drive according to a 7:37 a.m. police report.
Two unlocked Volvos on Turner Road were entered and cash was taken, according to a 10:16 a.m. report.
A Green Street resident complained at 12:38 p.m. that someone smeared feces all over the family car. She noted that her son is a state trooper and the car has a Massachusetts State Police sticker on it.
A Buchanan Road resident reported a stolen diamond ring at 5:13 p.m.
A son had his drunken mother transported to Salem Hospital at 7:28 p.m.

A Longview Drive woman reported money withdrawn from her account without her permission at 9:49 a.m.
An Atlantic Avenue homeowner reported at 11:11 a.m. his home's lock tampered with over the weekend, but entry not gained.

A man was taken into protective custody after he was found "sprawled across the sidewalk" on Wharf Street at 5:14 p.m.
A woman told police at 5:40 p.m. that her windshield had been smashed overnight while parked on Derby Street.
Two women living on Harrison Avenue attracted police at 6:31 p.m. due to an argument over parking. Police told them to consult with the landlord and added, "They are neighbors and need to work things out in a civil manner."
A woman traveling on Bridge Street at 7:47 p.m. contacted police to tell them she was being followed by a man in a blue Ford. Police pulled over the blue Ford while the woman kept driving. The man in the Ford told police that the woman had asked him to come to Salem to collect $150 he had loaned her. But on arrival, she refused to pay the money. Police, still in touch with the woman, asked her to come back. She told the dispatcher "that she would turn back around and come back to speak to these officers." But they waited for 15 minutes and the woman never reappeared. Police advised the man to stay away from her and seek his $150 in court.
A Lafayette Street woman told police at 10:17 p.m. that someone had stolen her new $500 bicycle from her basement. There are no suspects, police say.

A woman "yelling in the hallway" on Howard Street was found to be drunk and was taken into protective custody just after midnight.
The Fire Department was called after a man on Bridge Street fell asleep and his dinner caught fire atop the stove. He was advised at 12:35 a.m. "to try a bag of chips the next time he has late night munchies," according to the log.
Police received a complaint from Center Street at 10:14 a.m. regarding a dog that had been barking since 6:30 a.m. The owner agreed to bring the dog inside.
A Cloverdale Avenue resident reported the fraudulent use of his credit card number at 12:03 p.m. He still has the card.
A woman's purse was reported stolen from her car at the Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA at 12:04 p.m. Among the lost items, an iPhone and various credit cards. Those cards were reported used by two men at various points later in the day, in an attempt to buy a flat screen TV — that transaction was voided and the suspect caught on camera — and at the Highland Avenue CVS by a man wearing a New York Yankees cap.
A man told police 2:49 p.m. he was in the vicinity of Palmer and Prince streets when someone came up and punched him in the face. He knows the assailant only as Angel.
A man on Mason Street feels like he's being watched after discovering a camera lodged in the fence bordering his property. Police were called at 5:28 p.m., but could not determine if the camera was actually recording anything. The man explained that he's got a lawsuit in progress over the construction of the fence, which has led to flooding in his basement. He suggested that this is the reason for the camera. The camera owner could not be reached by police.
A man on Lafayette Street complained that his estranged wife has been harassing him via texts. "He was advised to file for divorce," according to the log at 6:17 p.m., and to seek court protection.
At the downtown YMCA, someone went through a woman's duffle bag and took her car keys, she told police at 7 p.m.
A man was taken into protective custody at 8:18 p.m. after locking himself into the restroom at the Hess Gas Station on Derby Street. Police managed to get the door open and found the man sitting on the toilet.

Neil Smith Jr., 27, of 56 Margin St., Salem, was arrested on Lafayette Street at 3:31 a.m. by Patrolmen Deni Gaito and Rafael Gonzalez and charged with possession of drugs. This came after the pair watched Smith and a woman who aroused their concern for her safety as she lay back in a car for a period of time. They interviewed Smith and then searched him to determine if he had a weapon. Police then found a hypodermic needle and drugs, according to the log.
A wild brown Volvo smacked an Acura pulling out of a parking space on Lafayette Street at 7:40 a.m. and then went on its reckless way. Police are investigating.
In a case of keeping watch at home and abroad, a husband serving overseas called his wife to let her know he noticed too much spending on the credit card. She told police she may have lost her wallet at one point. They advised her at 8:40 a.m. to get an accounting from the bank.
A woman on Ward Street was shocked after she attached cables to jump start her broken-down car at 8:53 a.m. She next went inside to call for help. When she came out, the cables had been stolen.
A woman at Salem Fitness on Swampscott Road reported her windshield smashed at 3:21 p.m. Police have no witnesses.

A woman reported a break-in at 7:42 p.m. on Bresnahan Street. No sign of forced entry, say police. Medications, $100 and keys were taken.
Vandalism on Brooksby Village Drive turned out to be bad luck instead. A small rock dug up by exuberant landscapers hit someone's car at 8:05 p.m.
The Fire Department quickly knocked down a blaze reported to be in an attic on 14 Hamerick Road at 9:17 p.m.

A 22-year-old Lynnfield woman will be summonsed for driving without insurance and with a revoked registration on Sylvan Street at 1:45 a.m.
Illegal dumping from a black SUV was reported on Main Street near Gordon Realty at 8:39 a.m.
A boat was broken into at Superior Systems on Route 1 and $2,000 worth of audio equipment stolen, according to a 9:24 a.m. log entry.
A business asked for help at 10 a.m. when a former employee "who has been abusive in the past" came to collect his last check. Northshore Mall security stepped in to help.
A company on Foster Street, Statewide Services, is pointing the finger of blame at a former employee over stolen scrap metal, according to 10:29 a.m. police report.
A Framingham man stopped by police near the Lahey Clinic at 1:16 p.m. will be summonsed for driving with a suspended license.
A police officer on paid detail at 1:33 p.m. was struck while parked on Washington Street by a vehicle that didn't linger long enough to produce, with certainty, a license plate number.
A gray and white cat went missing on Goodale Street at 2:55 p.m.

A driver on Rantoul Street at 2:37 p.m. told police that "as she backed out of her driveway, an unknown woman claimed she backed into her," according to the police log. But the woman soon disappeared.
A pedestrian told police he was hit by a bicycle at 3:19 p.m. in the area of Cabot and Charnock streets.
At 3:34 p.m. a person reported being hit by a car in a parking lot on Broughton Drive.
Joseph Ernest Cotreau III, 31, of 490 Rantoul St., Beverly, was arrested by officers Erik Abrahamson and Michael Flynn at the home address and charged with aggravated assault and battery and assault and battery with dangerous weapon.
Tahmeika Inez Johnson, 17, of 6 Echo Ave., Beverly, was arrested at 8:53 p.m. by Officer David Leblanc at the home address and charged with domestic assault and battery.

New parking lot equipment at Pond and Chapman streets was reported vandalized with graffiti at 6 a.m.
A man yelling in his apartment on Broadway at 6:18 a.m. wouldn't tell police what he was yelling about. But he agreed to stop.

Police responded to a report of shoplifting at Kohl's in the Liberty Tree Mall at 5:39 p.m.
Beverly Strazzere, 58, of 181 Broadway St., Wakefield, was arrested on Andover Street following an accident with no personal injury. She will be charged with drunken driving, a first offense, and a marked lanes violation.

Ralph Marifiot, 50, of Revere was arrested on Railroad Avenue at 4:45 p.m. by officers Candace Doyle and Michael Frayler and charged with violating a restraining order.
Luis Alberto Adames, 21, of 232 Curwin Circle, Lynn, and Arturo Lorenzo Pacheco, 18, of 50 Andrews St., Lynn, were arrested at 6:15 p.m. on Paradise Road by officers Candace Doyle, Matthew MacDonald and Michael Frayler. Both were charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — a shod foot. The pair "jumped" an employee at Stop & Shop, according to police.
Tuesday
Ralph Marifiot, 50, of Revere was arrested on Railroad Avenue at 4:45 p.m. by Sgt. William Waters and Officer Ken Reem and charged with violating a restraining order. He was arrested on the same charge Monday and had only been released moments before this arrest, according to police.
