The Salem News and the Peabody Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a March 27 debate between the three candidates for Peabody’s 12th Essex District state representative seat. The seat was left vacant by the November death of Rep. Joyce Spiliotis.
The public is invited to attend the event, which will be held at the Wiggin Auditorium in Peabody City Hall at 7 p.m. The event will be broadcast by Peabody Access TV and will be moderated by Salem News Editor David Olson. The candidates will field questions from a panel that will include representatives from the Peabody Chamber of Commerce.
The three candidates are Republican Leah Cole, a nurse; Democrat Beverley Ann Griffin Dunne, a School Committee member; and City Councilor Dave Gravel. Gravel is an unenrolled candidate. The election will be held April 2.
Candidates may also answer questions from Salem News readers. If you have a question you would like asked of all three candidates, send it to Olson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure to include your contact information.
