---- — SALEM — Three people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a two-car crash on Willson Street yesterday afternoon.
The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m., when a vehicle driven by Nicholas Caliri of Salem stopped to turn left onto Story Road and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Amanda Calman, also of Salem, according to the incident log.
Calman said later that she hadn’t seen the stopped vehicle because “he did not have his directional signal on,” wrote police. She was subsequently transported to Salem Hospital by Atlantic Ambulance, along with a 12-year-old girl who was a passenger in her vehicle.
Caliri was also transported to the hospital; three passengers in that vehicle were not.
Police cited Caliri for operating an unregistered vehicle, while Taylor Sica of Saugus, one of the passengers in that vehicle and also its owner, was cited for allowing him to operate the unregistered vehicle.
Calman was cited for following too closely.
Both vehicles were towed.
