---- — SALEM — Salem veterans with wartime combat service will be honored on Veterans Day.
The City of Salem Wartime Service Medals, which have been awarded the past few years, will be presented to any Salem veteran with qualifying service from World War II, Korea, Vietnam or more recent conflicts in the Middle East or elsewhere.
To date, more than 150 local veterans have received Wartime Service Medals.
To be eligible, veterans must have been city residents at the time of enlistment. Anyone who may be eligible should send information to the Salem Veterans Council, Attention Wartime Service Medal, P.O. Box 70, Salem, MA 01970, or contact Veterans’ Agent Kim Emerling at 978-745-0883.
Correspondence should include name, address, telephone number, email address and a brief description of the veteran’s service.
The medals will be presented at the Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Salem High School.
