Local scratch DJ leaves his mark on competition circuit

BEVERLY - Tom Beaver is an internationally renowned scratcher, but he doesn't have an itch.

Beaver, 28, of Longview Road is a professional scratch DJ. Using two turntables and what's called a "fader" knob, he intersplices albums and "scratches" them, literally moving them back and forth with his hands, to create entirely new and original sonic patterns.Read this article in full with a
