The body of John Pike, an honors graduate of Syracuse University and a musician, was found shortly after 4 p.m. in Wilbur's Point in Buzzards Bay.
Fairhaven police Sgt. Kevin Kobza confirmed last night that dive team members found Pike's body 150 to 200 yards from where his cell phone was found.
According to the band's MySpace.com page, Pike was a drummer for a band called Ra Ra Riot, based in Syracuse, N.Y.
The new wave band mixes rock 'n' roll with stringed instruments and was set to go on tour in July, including a stop in Cambridge.
Previously, the band toured across the country and in London.
No one answered the phone at Pike's family home on Gregory Island Road.
Pike had been missing since early Saturday morning following a party in Fairhaven, a southeastern Massachusetts coastal town near New Bedford.
Police said Pike walked away from the party at about 3 a.m. His cell phone was found less than half a mile from the house where the party occurred, police said.
Several area police departments, some with search dogs, swept the area on Saturday, but found no trace of Pike at that time.
