Incentives offered for storefront improvements in Beverly

BEVERLY — Beverly Main Streets is offering new incentives for downtown businesses to spruce up their storefronts.

The nonprofit organization will provide matching grants of up to $5,000 and low-interest loans of up to $40,000 to business and property owners who want to improve their facades. Main Streets will also provide free design assistance.

A free workshop is scheduled for Monday, March 31, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Beverly Public Library. Representatives from Main Streets' design committee and the city Planning Department will explain the application and grant process and offer advice on design techniques.
