Voter registration deadlines looming in Ipswich

IPSWICH — Now that Town Meeting has been moved forward on the calendar by a month, unregistered voters have a little bit longer to sign up.

The last day to register to vote at Annual Town Meeting and Town Election is Wednesday, April 23. The town clerk's office will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day.

You can register earlier by going to the clerk's office at Town Hall during regular business hours. Call the clerk's office at 978-356-6600 with any questions.

Among the issues expected to be debated at Town Meeting on May 13 is a $1.5 million Proposition 21/2 override to increase the school budget. If it passes muster at the meeting, it will also be on the ballot at Town Election on May 20.

Also on the election ballot will be candidates for two open seats on the Board of Selectmen and for three seats on the School Committee.
