Sunday

r A person looking to sweat out a few more pounds in the sauna ended up getting locked inside after Bally's Total Fitness closed for the night. Police received a report at 7:04 p.m. that he was locked inside the gym on Traders Way and not able to get out because of the type of lock. The Fire Department was called to the scene and unlocked the door so the person could leave.

r A woman went to the Salem police station at 9:44 p.m. to say she was involved in an accident with another driver on Prince Street earlier, but became uncomfortable after the other driver asked her out on a date. The two hadn't exchanged all the necessary information, but he was able to get her cell phone number and has called her three times since. Police spoke to the man and told him not to call the woman anymore, but have the insurance company do that for him.

r An employee for a vending company reported to police at 10:15 p.m. that his truck, which was parked at the Hawthorne Hotel, was broken into and a GPS was stolen.

r A car parked on Essex Street by Curtis Street appeared to be broken into. Sgt. Marc Berube noticed the car with a smashed-out window. The owner later determined that her satellite radio was stolen.

Monday

r A woman called police from her closet on Crosby Street at 12:50 a.m. to say there was a burglar in her home. Police responded, but it turned out the burglar was actually her brother.

r Two dogs got loose from their owner's home and caused havoc on Valley Street. Police received a report at 6 a.m. of a man chased by dogs. When police arrived, the dogs were running on the street. A jogger was approaching the area, and the dogs ran toward the jogger, stopping him in his tracks. Patrolman Gary Lebrun was able to distract the dogs and get them back to their owner's home at 63 Valley St. He also informed the animal control officer will be contacting the owner.

r Police received a report from Derby Street that a car was broken into at 7 a.m., and a GPS was stolen.

r Sean C. Carney, 46, of 108 Margin St., Salem, was arrested at 11:39 a.m. and charged with drunken driving and marijuana possession following a report of a man yelling on Chestnut Street.

Peabody

Sunday

r Police received a call at 9:48 p.m. of someone inside an unoccupied apartment at Eagan Place and when police arrived, the culprit fled on foot toward Boston Street in Salem. Police chased the culprit with the help of Salem police but could not locate him.

Monday

r Police received a complaint at 1 a.m. of an argument at White Hen Pantry on Lowell Street, but there was no argument, just an animated conversation.

r Junior Sauveur, 23, of 8 Brown St., Waltham, was arrested at 2:10 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license following a motor vehicle stop on Foster Street.

r Peabody Municipal Light and Power reported to police at 10:44 a.m. a theft from the West Peabody substation. The lock was cut, and copper wire was taken.

Sunday

r Silvio L. Cardoso, 38, of 822 Central St., Lowell, was arrested at 7:10 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and a marked lanes violation following a motor vehicle stop in the 500 block of Cabot Street.

Danvers

Sunday

r Joseph Noone, 29, of 67 Humphrey St., Swampscott, was arrested at 7:39 p.m. and charged with drunken driving (third offense), marijuana possession, failure to stop for police, speeding, a marked lanes violation and a stop sign violation following a motor vehicle stop on Lummus Avenue.

Monday

r David Arnette, 33, of 180 Conant St., Danvers, was arrested at 3 p.m. and charged with shoplifting and two counts of drug possession at Wal-Mart.

Ipswich

Sunday

r Mark Walters, 41, of 143 Argilla Road, Ipswich, was arrested at 10:26 p.m. and charged with drunken driving and a marked lanes violation following a motor vehicle stop on Market Street. Patrolman Jason Sinclair made the arrest.

Middleton

Saturday

r Stephen Salvo, 44, of 36 Village Road, Middleton, was arrested at 2:13 p.m. and charged with violating a restraining order at that address.

Boxford

Friday

r Kevin T. Simone, 40, of 8 Flume Road, Apt. 2, Magnolia, was arrested at 9:48 p.m. and charged with driving with a revoked license following a motor vehicle stop on Killam Hill Road.
