Car driven by teen goes over guardrail

PEABODY — A car driven by a teenage boy went over the guardrail on the ramp connecting Route 128 south to Route 1 south early yesterday morning, according to a state police spokesman.

The one-car accident involving a 1995 Saab 900 happened at 12:23 a.m., Trooper Thomas Murphy said. Neither the driver nor his male passenger were injured in the crash, Murphy said. The car was towed from the scene.

Murphy declined to give the names or hometowns of the driver and passenger because both were under 18 years old. There are no charges in connection with the crash. The state police are still investigating, Murphy said.
