Rantoul St. condos selling for $136,800

BEVERLY — A pair of one-bedroom condos in the new Federal Heights building on Rantoul Street is available at a reduced price to people who qualify based on their income.

The condos will be sold for $136,800 on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified applicants, according to the Housing Resource Group, a Lexington-based company that is handling the applications.

To qualify, the income for a one-person household cannot exceed $46,300, while the income for a two-person household cannot exceed $52,950. Applicants do not have to be Beverly residents.

The developer agreed to offer the lower-priced condos as part of the city's effort to increase affordable housing. One of the condos is 815 square feet while the other is 868 square feet.

Federal Heights is at the corner of Rantoul and Federal streets. The regular price for a one-bedroom condo there ranges from $185,000 to $215,000, according to online real estate listings.
