Every year, the re-enactors of Danvers Alarm List Company honor the seven local men lost at the Battle of Lexington on April 19, 1775. Members of the company toured seven monuments around Danvers and Peabody — which was part of Danvers in the revolutionary era — and fired three shots at each site with their flintlock muskets. The seven men who died were Henry Jacobs Jr., Benjamin Deland Jr., George Southwick Jr., Samuel Cook Jr., Ebenezer Goldthwaite, Perely Putnam and Jotham Webb. The 11 re-enactors were Henry Rutkowski of Salem, who led the group, portraying Revolutionary Capt. Levi Preston; Jim Witham of Essex; Donald Hayes of Lowell, the Rev. Dr. Bert White of Pembroke, a United Methodist clergyman who lead prayers at each site; Daniel Cripps of Lakeville; Skip Wiley of Danvers; Mark Richardson of Somersworth, N.H.; Jim Driscoll of Danvers; Bill Buttimer of Beverly, William Clemens of Danvers and his son Billy Clemens, also of Danvers.
