At 10:42 a.m., a man reported the catalytic converter had been stolen from his 1998 Volkswagen while it was parked on Canal Street. It was apparently cut from the car with a hacksaw.
At 9:28 p.m., two people reported the rear windows of their vehicles were smashed while they were parked at Forest River Park.
Thursday
At 1:09 a.m., a woman in an apartment at 40 Cedarcrest Ave. called to report she thought someone had broken into her house. When officers arrived, they found the wire holding a picture on the mantel in the living room had broken, causing the picture to fall to the floor and smash.
At 1:48 p.m., a Barton Street resident reported that items including a table saw, chop saw, weed whacker and assorted other tools were stolen from a shed overnight.
At 3 p.m., a woman went to the station to report that medication and $77 cash had been stolen from her purse, either at Salem Hospital or the train station.
Brendan C. Burgess, 18, 14 Will Sawyer St., Peabody, was arrested at 7:10 p.m. and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a knife.
Michael Tyrone Seldon, 19, of 162 Howard Ave., Dorchester, was arrested by Salem State College police at 10:29 p.m. and charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol.
Friday
Daniel A. Vachon, 20, of 278 Fiske St., Holliston, was arrested by Salem State police at 12:40 a.m. and charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol and a Class D substance.
While on routine patrol Essex Street at 12:52 a.m., Officer Gilbert Priddy saw a large fight break out near Gulu-Gulu Café. After calling for backup, Priddy said he saw Adam Pasquale Spina, 24, of 435 Eastern Ave., Lynn, punch another man with his fist. Spina was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Driving through a red light without stopping at 9:10 a.m. got Ricardo Guzman, 43, of 425 Pleasant St., Worcester, a ticket and an arrest for driving with a suspended license on Lafayette St.
Peabody
Thursday
Gerardo Garcia, 33, of 59 Newbury St., Peabody, was arrested after a traffic stop for operating with a revoked license and on a default warrant for operating without a license. Geoconda Yanez-Mera, 36, of 197 Union St., Lynn, will also have to appear on court for allowing Garcia to use her car.
At 7:23 p.m., a Northend Street woman reported her house was broken into and her 42-inch Sony plasma television was stolen. The TV is valued at $3,000.
Eugene J. Rapacioli, 63, 21 Walden Terrace, Saugus, will have to appear in court after he was stopped on Lynnfield Street at 8:59 p.m. and found to be operating with defective equipment but without a license.
Kristin M. Bothwell, 28, of 79 Mayfield St., No. 1, also has a day in court, after a stop for defective equipment on Lowell Street revealed her license had been suspended.
Friday
Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the Golden Banana at 12:36 p.m. They subsequently arrested William Diprisco, 47, of 109 Newbury St., Peabody, and charged him with malicious damage over $250 and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Thiago Pereira, 27, of 12 Park St. in Peabody, will have to appear in court after police charged him with operating without a license on Central Street at 11:56 a.m.
A woman called the station at 5:06 p.m. to report her ex-husband struck her in the face and thew his drink in her face during a domestic dispute at 106 Central St. James G. Hathaway, 35, last known address 38 Hewitt St., Georgetown, was subsequently arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery. Karen Hathaway, 34, last known address 258 Washington St., Peabody, will also have to go to court to face a charge of domestic assault and battery.
A woman reported her car stolen while she was in the Dunkin' Donuts on Central St. at 5:12 p.m. Police searched the area but did not locate the vehicle.
