Monday

Alan J. Maldonado, 27, of 12 Ward St., Salem, was arrested on Chase Street at 4:15 p.m. and charged with failure to use a turn signal and illegal possession of marijuana.

Christopher B. Nikas, 17, of 37 Winter Island Road was arrested at 7:15 p.m. at the Army Barracks store on Essex Street and charged with shoplifting. Police said a store employee chased Nikas after he walked out of the store with four scarves.

Tuesday

Two bystanders found a 2-year-old barefoot boy walking down the middle of Pope Street around 6 a.m. Police returned the boy to his home and woke up his grandmother. Northshore Ambulance took the boy and grandmother to North Shore Children's Hospital. Police notified the Department of Social Services.

Brian J. Maldonado, 17, of 37 Winter Island Road was arrested at 2:30 p.m. and charged with malicious destruction of property at the Plummer Home for Boys.

Donald Pinciaro, 51, of 224 Lafayette St. was arrested at 5:57 p.m. and charged with domestic assault.

Carolyn Haskell, 36, of 13 Vale St. was arrested at 6:34 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Shortly before 10 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident with personal injury but no entrapment on the bypass road. According to police radio transmissions, two people were taken by Northshore Ambulance to an unspecified hospital. Police had no further information as of press time.

Peabody

Monday

Marcilio Daconeicao, 32, of 23 Aborn St., Salem, was arrested at 11:26 p.m. on Lynnfield Street and charged with driving without a license.

Tuesday

Police said a possible medical problem with the driver caused a car to crash into a pole on Walnut Street around 2:10 p.m. The driver, Paul Dubois of 10 Francis Road, Salem, was taken to Salem Hospital.
