Meeting next week on power plant site

SALEM — A Vision for Salem, a local citizens' group, is hosting a public meeting next week on possible future uses of the Salem Harbor Station property in the event the power plant closes and the site is redeveloped.

The group commissioned a report, "The Potential Economic Impacts of Redeveloping Salem Harbor Station Power Plant," by The Brattle Group, a consulting firm with offices in Cambridge.

A representative from The Brattle Group will speak at the 7 p.m. meeting Wednesday at the Salem Visitor Center on New Liberty Street. Other speakers are scheduled from the Conservation Law Foundation and the Salem Alliance for the Environment.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
